Safe Driving at Work Training & Competence Assessment (9076)
This module is focused on reviewing, assessing and developing drivers’ practical driving abilities. Drivers were required to demonstrate their ability to use safe driving techniques, conduct vehicle operations over various terrains, and demonstrate situational responses to realistic driving processes so that the driver was competent and able to drive safely in operational environments.
COURSE OUTLINE - MODULES
- This module provides an overview of the basic principles of driving safety. The focus is on defensive driving skills, awareness of hazards, and conformity with road and workplace transport regulations. Participants will learn the knowledge and skills needed to reduce the risk involved with operating a vehicle in a variety of settings.

- This module describes the effective management of the journey and the driver to eliminate or reduce risks on the road. The modules emphasis the choice of route, scheduling, fatigue management, and also how monitoring driver fitness is a critical component of safe and effective travel when conducting business on behalf of the organisation.
- This module will attempt to develop the competence of the driver through assessing his or her driving techniques to build awareness of better driving techniques. This will include highlighting the correct use of the controls of the vehicle, following the road procedures and specific awareness of other‘s conduct and safe manoeuvring under a selection of driving conditions.
- This module will provide an introduction to journey pre-departure preparation such as risk assessment, journey approval, and inspection enforcement. Students will develop important knowledge and skills to ensure that they identify potential hazards, complete safety checks and ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy prior to each journey on behalf of the organisation.
